Alison has worked in the healthcare sector for over 30 years in clinical, operational, and service improvement roles, and has a passion for making a difference in health and care services to drive and support improvements in patient care delivery.

She began her career as a registered nurse working across a range of specialities in both acute and community settings. Subsequently, she moved into acute services operational management for services such as emergency department, acute assessment and medical ward provision. She has led site operations and discharge hub functions and has experience in community services, leading on mobilising contracts and developing services to support earlier discharge for patients to return home.

Alison has worked for a global IT services company to deploy electronic patient records into acute hospitals as part of the National Programme for IT. She has experience in deploying electronic patient records (EPRs) across community services, which enabled better communication with primary care to manage patients with long-term conditions.

Away from work, I enjoy spending as much time as possible in the great outdoors, walking in the countryside and by the sea with my family and Murphy, the Labrador. I am lucky enough to live close to the sea and I love spending time on the water, especially kayaking!
